About

Our Mission

The Ruston Family Foundation is a non-profit that works to promote the sport of Cross Country in Washington State high schools.

Cross Country is a sport that can launch a life-long love of running and fitness. Running improves physical and mental health, quality of life, and confidence. It’s also accessible to any high schooler regardless of their parent’s income or ability to invest time. By promoting Cross Country, we can create immense benefits for all young people.

Paul Ruston

Coach Ruston had a unique ability to make running fun. The Ruston Family Foundation will continue this legacy by producing activities and educational materials that, when added to high school Cross Country meets, will make the sport more appealing, understandable, and memorable for young athletes and their families. The Foundation’s activities will help give kids the tools – and the love of the sport – to become life-long runners.
